1.College Bound Essentials:

As the name implies, this workshop is an essential session for any college-bound student who wants to get the best admission opportunities and secure the highest scholarships possible. The workshop is geared to (rising) freshmen and sophomores who want a deep dive into what to do, when, and how best to do it, in order to structure the 4years of High School and build confidence in the student and families.
Topics the class will cover:
● How to stand out in high school but not burn out.
● How just one standardized test on a specific day can guarantee dozens of full rides.
● How to strategically pick courses that will work best for the student.
● How & why Ivy leagues and elite colleges are often less expensive than a state school
● How to find a student’s best college fits- public vs private, faith-based vs secular, etc.
● How to have a great college tour & get the most from it.
● When and how often to take the SAT or ACT (and how to boost scores).
We Encourage students to take “ownership” of this process, to be proactive, organized, and engaged in all that lies ahead!
2. Planning Junior Year:
So, this workshop is a must for families seeking a game plan for what lies ahead and knowledge for navigating it successfully. That is great if you have already attended the College Bound Essentials class! This class will build on what you learned. If not, it is not required that you attend that workshop first- just come to this one and jump right in; you’ll be fine.

This class will cover:
1. The PSAT, SAT, ACT- how, when, and why/if to take them
2. Understanding the best test prep resources and determining the best fit for the student
3. Why and how to work on your college applications now
4. How to complete your resume now and the many ways you will use it
5. Choosing colleges to visit (how many, which ones, when, etc.),
6. Finding out their scholarship and financial aid opportunities,
7. How to calculate what a college would charge you to attend (hint- it’s not the stated
price)How to recognize weaknesses in your credentials and take steps to strengthen them
8. How to use your summers to stand out to colleges
9. Getting organized and having a clear plan of parent/student communication throughout it
all….all while balancing schoolwork, sports, and the stress of the school year.

3.Planning Senior Year:
Students must make excellent use of the last semester and summer of their junior year. There is much to know and action items to address, but it can be well managed by starting early and organizing.
